This musical tribute to the much-loved Muppets features 12 fan favorites reinterpreted by some of today's hottest artists. Uptempo numbers include OK Go's raucous rockout on "The Muppet Show Theme," Alkaline Trio's punk-pop spin on "Moving Right Along," "Mahna, Mahna" by the Fray, "Our World" by My Morning Jacket, and "Mr. Bassman" in a funky acoustic version by Norwegian singer/songwriter Sondre Lerche. The ballads include "The Rainbow Connection" (by the band Weezer and Paramore vocalist Hayley Williams), "Halfway Down the Stairs" (by Amy Lee; a Top 10 hit in the UK), the winsome "I Hope That Something Better Comes Along" by San Francisco's Matt Nathanson, a gentle interpretation of "I'm Going to Go Back There Someday" by Rachael Yamagata, and "Bein' Green" by Chicago-based singer/songwriter Andrew Bird.
